Maybe you also wondered about a funny unused digital i/o pin connector on your sound card...

We also did - and noticed a CREATIVETM present:

a digital in/out interface!!!

But how to use it???
That's why we developed a simple and nice priced interface card with optical in/out, so you can connect MD, CD, DAT or any other optical digital sound device easily to your computer!!!

The POAB is our first adapter board and the best choice for all who just need optical ports!
(We also offer e.g. the POCAB which additionally features coaxial in/out!)

All you have to do is connect the adapter to your SBLive! (which also ensures the current connection, no further plugs are needed!). The board is screwed up instead of a slot cover at the back of your computer. Finish!

There is no need to install new software, because the actual SBLive! driver versions are sufficient. A final activation of SPDIF IN in the mixer settings will do it.

Many audio devices already have got optical in/out, especially compact high-fi devices, mini disc and DAT recorders. And who would not like to hear the own various MP3 files from the high-fi rack or record them to MD in digital quality? Maybe you like to store some of your DAT or MD recordings to a CD-R?

The advantage of optical signal transmission is clear:
There are no interference effects caused by electrical coupling of computer and audio devices. The cables cannot couple electrical e.g. to parallel telephone lines or power supply cables. Any electrical coupling with noise sources is impossible!!!
This means a loss-free transmission of the signal from Computer to DAT (or other) and in the back direction.
